The kasaya was a robe worn by Buddhist monks, often over zhiduo robes.
A kasaya over a zhiduo was worn by K'anpo and Cho-Je, two incarnations of the Hermit who'd been guru to the Doctor in his first incarnation; most notably helping his third incarnation in his regeneration into his fourth. (TV: Planet of the Spiders)
