The K9 Annual 1983 was a one-off annual published in August 1982. It was launched in anticipation of a full series of K9 and Company.
Following the path taken by the pilot episode, “A Girl’s Best Friend”, the six short stories in the Annual all featured Sarah Jane Smith and K9 Mark III investigating supposedly “supernatural” occurrences, rather than actual aliens or time travel. Some of the stories also featured Brendan Richards and Aunt Lavinia, as featured in the pilot episode.
Unlike the previously published Dalek Annuals, the K9 Annual did reference the Doctor and the TARDIS.
