Lieutenant John Andrews was a member of the crew of the SS Bernice.
Biography[]
On 4 June 1926, the ship was removed from space and time and placed in a miniscope which eventually came into the possession of a Lurman named Vorg.
Vorg used the miniscope to increase Andrews' aggressiveness, causing him to challenge the Third Doctor. They had a boxing match and Andrews was beaten. He appeared to be romantically involved with Major Daly's daughter Claire, and the miniscope time loop resulted in the pair constantly walking round the ship before a plesiosaurus emerged from the sea — causing Claire to scream and Andrews to run for help.
Andrews, along with the rest of the passengers and crew of the Bernice, was returned to Earth by the Doctor. (TV: Carnival of Monsters)

- The role was played by Ian Marter, who later played the Fourth Doctor's companion Harry Sullivan. Barry Letts had originally considered him for the role of Mike Yates, but Ian dropped out due to filming clashes with other projects. (DCOM: Terror of the Autons)
