RealWorld

Jim Broadbent (born 24th May 1949) played the Eleventh Doctor in The Curse of Fatal Death. He had previously played a generic Doctor in a sketch for an episode of "Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV". This is included on the VHS release of "The Curse of Fatal Death".

The Emmy- and Academy Award-winning character actor has appeared in many popular films, including the musical Moulin Rouge and Iris. He won an Oscar for the latter in 2002 (were Curse of Fatal Death to have been canonical, this would have made Broadbent the first actor to win an Oscar after having appeared in the series). Other roles in popular series have included Professor Kirke in the 2005 movie The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Charles Stanforth in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Most recently, he has played Professor Slughorn in the Harry Potter film series.
