Jelena was a human rebel against The Consensus. Ostensibly on a mission to rescue the Eighth Doctor from the prison, she actually wanted to kill the Doctor to make him a martyr. The Doctor managed to talk her out of it, but she was murdered by her fellow rebel Hagan. (AUDIO: Prisoner of the Sun)
