Jeanie Colquhoun was the sister of Jamie Colquhoun. She lived in Paisley with their mother. A friend of their family Harry always carried her picture with him and wanted to marry her. Jamie thought she would have accepted his proposal.
Jeanie was in favour of votes for women.
When World War I began in 1914, Jamie immediately enlisted. He, Harry and many other men left for the battlefields of the Great War, where Harry and many others perished. Jeanie was regularly exchanging letters with Jamie. She wrote to him that landlords started hiking up the rents and she with her mother participated in the rent strikes that were ultimately successful. (COMIC: The Weeping Angels of Mons)
