Jane Hampden was a school teacher at Little Hodcombe and a friend of Ben Wolsey. In 1984, she opposed Sir George Hutchinson's war games on the grounds that they were becoming increasingly dangerous and people were getting hurt. She helped the Fifth Doctor defeat the Malus. (TV: The Awakening)
Jane accompanied the Doctor and Will Chandler on his quest to return Will to his own time. Their travels lasted a month before they were successful, landing in many different places and times. After returning Jane to her time, she helped the Doctor in getting placed on the Board of Governors at Hexen Bridge School. (PROSE: The Hollow Men)
