Miss Ireland was an English teacher at Coal Hill School. Susan Foreman was one of her students.

In 1963, she had her class read King Lear out loud, with Susan reading the part of Cordelia. She told Miss Ireland that the play was nothing like what had really happened, and was told that she was missing the point. (AUDIO: All Hands on Deck)
