Inverness was a city in Scotland.
History[]
After being captured following the Battle of Culloden in 1746, the Second Doctor, Ben Jackson and a group of highlanders were sent to Inverness by Solicitor Grey, who had bribed their captor, Sergeant Klegg. The group of highlanders included Laird Colin McLaren, Alexander McLaren and Jamie McCrimmon. They were then imprisoned in Inverness gaol, where the Doctor escaped by tricking the solicitor and the clerk Cedric Perkins using Prince Charlie's standard. The remainder were taken to Trask's ship, the Annabelle, where were to be coerced into selling themselves into indentured servitude in Barbados. The Doctor, Polly Wright and Kirsty McLaren managed to rescue them, with the highlanders taking over the Annabelle and sailing for France. Meanwhile the Doctor and companions, along with Jamie, returned to Culloden. Later, Grey was incarcerated for his crimes in Inverness gaol. (TV: The Highlanders)
Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart requested that an aircraft be standing by at Inverness for his return to London from Loch Ness. (TV: Terror of the Zygons [+]Robert Banks Stewart, Doctor Who season 13 (BBC1, 1975).)
Combat 3000 had a branch there. A girl went missing after playing the game. Later she escaped her kidnapper Uvlavad Kudlak along with Luke Smith, Clyde Langer, Maria Jackson, Sarah Jane Smith, Jen, Ella and Jack. (TV: Warriors of Kudlak)
Inverness was also where Amy Pond lived before moving to Leadworth. (PROSE: The Forgotten Army)
