It opened in the mid 2000s and quickly established itself at the forefront of Cardiff restaurants.
It was renowned for its "contemporary Indian cuisine with a special touch, derived from the intimate geographical knowledge of [its] chefs". The restaurant walls were painted white, with big, abstract artwork and stark black furniture; it was far from a stereotypical Indian restaurant.
As an appetiser, the Indian Summer served poppadoms, lime pickle, raita and chopped onions. It's dishes included Karachi chicken with lemon pilau rice and a sag paneer. A lamb dish was also available. Among the beverages, the restaurant served bottles of Cobra.
