Impact suits were spacesuits used by a certain species. They were extremely tough and could survive atmospheric re-entry. They could also heal any damage done to its occupants, but needed a lot of time if they suffered a crash-landing.
After defeating an alien invasion in 1938 by blowing up the aliens' ship, the Eleventh Doctor grabbed an impact suit after being blown into space. He managed to put it on before crashing to Earth, though he accidentally got the helmet on backwards. Dazed and injured from the fall, he had to be led to the TARDIS by Madge Arwell.
