Army General Ilya Svyatoslavovich (Russian: Илья Святославович) was a high ranking official in the Russian army. According to the Doctor's sonic sunglasses, Ilya was 70-years-old by 2017, was 186.7 cm tall, weighed 176.4 pounds, had a resting heart rate of 72 BPM and a body temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius.

He led the Russian forces stationed in Turmezistan, but was killed by the Monks after he chose to act of strategy and not consent. (TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World)

Behind the scenes[]

Ilya's full name is given, in Russian, on the prominent name tag on the man's uniform, with surname first and first name last. Though iPlayer credits reportedly list the character as "Ilya", the version of the episode available on iTunes credit Andrew Byron as playing "Llya" instead.

While Ilya is described by the sonic sunglasses as being 70 years of age, the actor, Andrew Byron, was only 45 years old at the time of production.
