I Am the Walrus

When the Third Doctor explained to Jo Grant that "I am he, and he is me" in regards to the Second Doctor's identity, Jo responded by saying "And we are all together, goo goo g'joob?", to the confusion of both Doctors. Jo clarified that the phrase came from "a song by the Beatles", with the Second Doctor subsequently asking her how the song went. (TV: The Three Doctors)

Behind the scenes[]

  • While its name is not actually identified on-screen, the song referenced by Jo is the 1967 Beatles song "I Am the Walrus", which contains the lyrics "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together" at the beginning of its first verse, and features the phrase "goo goo g'joob" in its chorus.
