A Hermit is one who lives on his own. The Doctor told Romana that he knew an old hermit who lived in the moutains of Southern Gallifrey, who told him of the Record of Rassilon. (DW: State of Decay) The Doctor told Professor Yana that he was a "bit of a hermit."
