H. P. Wilson was the chief electrical officer for Henrik's department store. On 4 March 2005, Rose Tyler was to deliver a packet of lottery money to him, but she was attacked by the Autons and fled with the Ninth Doctor. The Doctor informed her that Wilson had been killed. Rose described him as "a nice guy". (TV: Rose)

Behind the scenes Edit

H.P. Wilson holds the distinction of being the first named character in the revived BBC Wales series, although he never appears onscreen. He also happens to be the first character to die in the revived series (again, not on screen).

In the novelisation by Russell T Davies, he is replaced by Bernie Wilson, who is senior caretaker rather than the chief electrical officer at Henrik's. Davies recalled that the character of Wilson had simply evolved in his mind since writing the original television script; he found that Wilson being the senior caretaker simply made for a better story. This version of Wilson was also given considerable backstory, including a love interest, and shady dealings around buying lottery tickets.
