Gorembe was a runaway slave who escaped from Geoffrey Balsam's brass works. He was the husband of Sarah and helped her when she encountered Clara. He gave Flip Jackson something important to keep. Sarah and the Sixth Doctor found him at the brass works, beaten and delirious. Sarah helped him and their fellow tribesmen to escape. (AUDIO: The Behemoth)
