Professor Gnat was a butterfly collector. He travelled to a planet to collect butterflies, but was captured by the Cybermen. He escaped with the help of the Second Doctor, John and Gillian and managed to catch one butterfly before they left in the TARDIS. (COMIC: Flower Power)
