West Country Children's Home was located in Gloucester. The Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald visited it in the 1990s and saw Danny Pink as a child. Clara also claimed that she had never been to Gloucester but the Doctor ignored it, saying that she had likely simply forgotten. (TV: Listen)

In 2008, the Eleventh Doctor suggested going to Gloucester, as the nearest city to Leadworth, in an effort to stop the Atraxi from destroying the world in their search for Prisoner Zero. The Doctor was put off the idea when he discovered the city wasn't actually reachable, given the time remaining and the tools at his disposal. (TV: The Eleventh Hour)

During the ongoing Miracle Day crisis, Gloucester appeared on Mary Cooper's map of overflow camps put up in and around Wales. (TV: The Categories of Life)
