An adaptation featuring an all-female cast was released in 2016, and television adaptations were created in the form of a 1986 - 1991 series and a shorter-lived series in 1997.

Ghostbusters was one of the multiple franchises to be represented alongside the Doctor Who universe in the mass-crossover toys-to-life video game, LEGO Dimensions [+]Jon Burton, Graham Goring and James McLoughlin, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (2015).. The Ghostbusters content was featured in the game from the beginning, as with the Doctor Who content, although the fun packs, level packs, etc. allowing the player to control characters from the series were added partway through year 1.
