Dr Gachet was one of Vincent van Gogh's doctors.

In 1890, Gachet was looking after Vincent, who was screaming after painting The Pandorica Opens. After painting it, Vincent went mad. Gachet described him as being "very ill". (TV: The Pandorica Opens)

While under his care, Vincent painted a portrait of Gachet. It was eventually added to the collection of van Gogh's paintings in the Musée d'Orsay. (TV: Vincent and the Doctor)
