Frank was a dockworker at Tiger Bay, Cardiff, who died in an explosion while unloading the Facklaträfat.
One night in 1953, Frank, along with his coworkers - Wilf, Hassan and Michael - were ordered to unload a crate from the Facklaträfat with the promise of extra pay.
As the crate was being unloaded, it exploded with a flash of light and a force great enough to rock the ship towards its starboard. Frank was killed when a further eruption from the crate sent a shard of wood through his throat.
