Doctor Who The Official Annual 2024 is set for an official 7 September release. Except I pre-ordered it from Waterstones and it's already arrived for me. Today. I'm not sure if this was at all intended but I have access to all the content of the book. So can I make pages, or should I wait for the official release? I'm not too sure in this instance. Discussion

As per Tardis:Official releases:

"For prose fiction, release date is whatever is given by the publisher as the release date. Even if you get a copy before that date, you cannot write about that story here until the date the publisher gives as the official launch date."T:OFF REL

Waterstones probably messed up, as that sort of thing is not supposed to happen. I read somewhere that someone received the Penguin Random House Doom's Day novel Extraction Point early, and we did not cover it until its actual given release date. Danniesen 17:44, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Conclusion

Epsilon is exactly correct in his quotation of T:OFF REL above. This is an unambiguous case with clear policy behind it so I see no reason to prolong the thread. You may, of course, draft any articles off-wiki but they must not be posted here until the official release date of the annual. Bongo50 18:42, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
