Ford's Theatre

Ford's Theatre was a Washington DC theatre, active during the 19th century. It was operated by the American theatre manager John T. Ford with his assistance of his brother Henry Clay Ford in the 1860s.

It was the site of the assassination of U. S. President Abraham Lincoln on 14 April 1865 by John Wilkes Booth. The Sixth Doctor, Evelyn Smythe and Robert Knox were all present in Ford's Theatre that night. Both Fords had been acquainted with Booth as he was an actor and had performed in the theatre on several occasions. (AUDIO: Assassin in the Limelight)

The Eighth Doctor told his companion Charley Pollard that he once attempted to convince Lincoln not to go to the theatre. (AUDIO: Minuet in Hell)
