Fish was a member of the band Marillion.
Soon after a 1987 Marillion concert in which Richard Kilpatrick witnessed the Ninth Doctor playing guitar in a session band for one of Marillion's support acts (frantically looking at one of the exits several times while he did so), Fish left the band under mysterious circumstances.
