Foxgrove was a village in Hertfordshire, England. and was where Sarah Jane Smith lived the first three months of her life. Foxgrove was known for the ruins of a Cistercian abbey. The local newspaper was the Hertfordshire Times. The village had at least one police box. The village was also located at a weak point on the Web of Time. (TV: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)

History[]

1951[]

Sarah Jane Smith was born in Foxgrove in May[1] 1951 to Eddie Smith and his wife, the former Barbara Wilson.

Sarah Jane's adult self, by then over fifty years old, momentarily visited the hilltop, one-half mile from the village, in July of that year. She was lured there through a time fissure by a Graske named Krislok, who had disguised himself as a human boy named Oscar. The Graske was working for the Trickster.

The Foxgrove Village Fête was held on 18 August. The Smiths helped in the booths, while the infant Sarah Jane rested quietly in her pram.

Adult Sarah Jane returned with her adopted son, Luke, that day, being unable to resist the temptation. They adopted the aliases, Victoria and David Beckham. Discovering the date was that of her parents' death, she disabled their automobile to prevent the crash that would kill them. In doing so, she fractured time and allowed the Trickster to enter the universe. His arrival created a new timeline which would leave the Earth in ruins. Foxgrove's exclusively White townsfolk were surprised by the arrival of South Asian Rani Chandra who was searching for Sarah Jane. When Eddie and Barbara realised what was happening and who "Victoria" really was, they left the infant Sarah Jane in her pram and drove off to their deaths. Their sacrifice restored the proper timeline. The Trickster defeated, Rani, Luke, and adult Sarah Jane were required to leave her infant self in her pram, alone in the town square, as that is how she was known to have been found. (TV: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)

The infant Sarah Jane soon departed Foxgrove, to be reared by her paternal aunt, Lavinia. (TV: The Time Warrior, The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith, et al.)

During this year, there was a bicycle repair shop in the main square of Foxgrove that was owned by an A. J. Forza.

Demolishment[]

In 1964, the village was demolished to make way for the A7665.

By the 21st century, the land had been incorporated into the edge of the Broden New Town, and contained housing. (TV: The Temptation of Sarah Jane Smith)

Behind the scenes[]

Location filming was conducted in Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, aside from the church which was filmed at the nearby Beaupre Castle in Cowbridge.
