The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular (Australia & New Zealand Tour 2015) saw the concert go on tour for a second time and comprised the nineteenth through twenty-fifth performances of the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular. It was performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at Arena, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide, Australia; the West Australian Orchestra at Perth Arena, Perth, Australia; The Metropolitan Orchestra at Qantas Credit Union Arena, Sydney, Australia; and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at Vector Arena, Auckland, New Zealand between 24 January-15 February 2015.
Overview[]
The concert was announced on 4 August 2014 by BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand in association with Andrew Kay Management. It was conducted by Ben Foster and hosted by Peter Davison.[1]
In Adelaide, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra was accompanied by the Elder Conservatorium Chorale, The Graduate Singers and soloist Antoinette Halloran (soprano); in Perth, the West Australian Orchestra was accompanied by the WASO Chorus and soloist Antoinette Halloran (soprano); in Sydney, The Metropolitan Orchestra was accompanied by the Sydney Philharmonia Choir and soloist Antoinette Halloran (soprano); and in Wellington, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra was accompanied by the Westlake Choralation Choir and soloist Antoinette Halloran (soprano).
The concert was primarily focused on the Twelfth Doctor, with the majority of the music hailing from Series 8.
There were seven performances:

- 24 January 2015 - a matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7:30pm.
- Perth
- 31 January 2015 - a matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7:30pm.
- Sydney
- 7 February 2015 - a matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7:30pm.
- Auckland
- 15 February 2015 - a matinee at 1pm.

There were fifteen individual pieces in all. Six pieces performed, followed by a twenty-minute interval, then another nine pieces.
Some pieces followed the names and themes of their CD release counterparts, while others were extended pieces that used an overarching theme or initial name and piece to lead into other pieces.

Following a rapturous response from sold out audiences across the East Coast of Australia and in New Zealand; this extraordinary concert includes special edited sequences of Peter Capaldi's debut as the Twelfth Doctor, as well as fan favorites from recent series and classic nostalgic footage.
Composer, Murray Gold’s captivating music, will be performed by Australia’s finest musicians and singers including Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and The Metropolitan Orchestra, Sydney.

- BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand ran a "Doctor Who Theme Tune competition" to win two "money-can't-buy" VIP tickets, merchandise packs, a backstage tour, one night of accommodation and return flights.[3]
- To enter you had to film yourself recreating the Doctor Who theme tune in any way you liked and the post it to social media with the hashtag #DWSSThemeTune.
- The winning entry was to be shown on the big screen at the events around Australia & New Zealand.
- It was open to all residents of Australia & New Zealand aged 13+, and opened at 10am on 7 November 2014 and closed at 5pm on 28 November 2014.[4] The winner was announced on 4 December 2014.[5]
- Photo calls were held Glenelg Beach in Adelaide and The Pinnacles near Perth.[6][7]
- A Merchandise Pack could be purchased with the tickets, it included: a T-Shirt, Souvenir Programme, Lithograph, Travel Mug, Wrist Band and Canvas Tote Bag.
