Farringham was an English village.
In 1913, while running from the Family of Blood, the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones hid in Farringham, with the Doctor having used a Chameleon Arch to become human, losing his memories in the process and becoming John Smith. (TV: Human Nature) Eventually, the Family tracked them to the village and killed several of its residents before John Smith accepted that he really was the Doctor and changed back into a Time Lord.
