Faithful Friends: Part Two was the tenth short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: The Ghosts of Christmas. It was written by Cavan Scott and Mark Wright. It featured Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart.
Summary[]
It's Christmas. The Brigadier's nephew, Henry, is visiting with his wife Olivia and their two children. Alistair finds the holiday awkward because he doesn't know his nephew very well.
Alistair finishes up some UNIT paperwork. Henry calls him down at Doris' request — she needs his help with the gravy.
Alistair notices that the table is set for six — for himself, Doris, and Henry's family. He insists on setting another place, as he has done for the last thirty years.
After dinner, Alistair and Henry enjoy an after-dinner drink prior to doing the dishes. Alistair raises a toast to the absent Doctor.
