By one account, the Exodus Cybermen were the Cybermen who arose on colony ships and arks launched in the mass exodus from Mondas, early in Cyber-history.

These Cybermen were "marked by their resourcefulness and determination, as they sought to survive and propagate their race in the face of their planet's impending annihilation". The Doctor allegedly encountered Exodus Cybermen on several occasions. (GAME: Worlds Apart [+]Reality+ (2021).)

Indeed, the Twelfth Doctor met his end on a Mondasian colony ship where he witnessed a version of the "genesis of the Cybermen" influenced by the Saxon Master. Originally appearing as pre-conversion patients and primitive Mondasian Cybermen, (TV: World Enough and Time [+]Steven Moffat, Doctor Who series 10 (BBC One, 2017).) these Cybermen later developed further into forms matching the CyberNeomorphs, (PROSE: Alit in Underland [+]Richard Dinnick, The Missy Chronicles (2018).) Cyber Legions Cybusmen and finally weapons-grade model Cybermen. (TV: The Doctor Falls [+]Steven Moffat, Doctor Who series 10 (BBC One, 2017).) They were created as part of a smaller-scale "Operation Exodus" within the colony ship. (TV: World Enough and Time [+]Steven Moffat, Doctor Who series 10 (BBC One, 2017).)

A file on the Exodus Cybermen existed within UNIT's visual interface database on Earth by February 2024. (WC: Incoming Transmission - February Update Video [+]Sasha Blore and Darren Fitzjohn, Time Lord Victorious (2024).)
