Captain Erisa Magambo was a UNIT officer in the early 21st century.

In April 2009 her UNIT command were sent on site after a bus had vanished into a wormhole. She and Malcolm Taylor were called by the Tenth Doctor. He warned UNIT of an alien swarm intent on coming to Earth via the wormhole. She ordered Malcolm to close it, though the Doctor and the bus passengers would be trapped on the other side. When Malcolm refused, she forcefully insisted by pointing a Walther P99 at him, though she seemed reluctant to shoot him so it was most likely an empty threat.

At that moment, a UNIT soldier yelled out that the bus had returned, but it brought three of the Swarm with it. Magambo and her command fired on them and, though basic firearms proved ineffective, they managed to dispatch all three with anti-aircraft batteries. She thanked the Doctor and gave him his TARDIS, which UNIT had found in Buckingham Palace's garden. Magambo was then left with three dead alien stingrays to clear up and bore witness to the escape of notorious jewel thief Christina de Souza in the now-flying bus, though she and her men made no effort to assist DI Macmillan's efforts to stop her.(TV: Planet of the Dead)

Later that same year, she asked the recently-married Martha Smith-Jones to have the Doctor investigate mysterious trees in Greenwich Park. Despite having been the one to get him on the job, she refused to heed the Doctor, and followed the deranged Advocate's advice instead, who tried to blow up London. Fortunately, the Doctor foiled her mad plan. He called Magambo and UNIT "typical military". She angrily told him that if that's how he felt, to leave Earth, and never come back until he changed his face again, because his current one had worn out its welcome. The Doctor and Martha furiously turned their backs on her after these events. (COMIC: Don't Step on the Grass)

In November 2009, Magambo arranged for Jack Harkness to discover the cause of the time fissure occurring in Cardiff. (PROSE: The Undertaker's Gift)

In 2013, Magambo was in charge of the clean-up operation after the Nestene invasion of Hyperville. (PROSE: Autonomy)

Alternate timeline

In an alternate timeline, Captain Magambo was in charge of a special division of UNIT. She took part in the operation to remove the Time Beetle on Donna Noble's back and with the help of Rose Tyler, sent Donna back in time to prevent the events which would result in the Doctor's death and worldwide disasters. (TV: Turn Left)
