Endurance (ship)

The Endurance was the human ship Ernest Shackleton used to go on his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition to cross Antarctica. It was crewed by photographer James Francis Hurley, legendary explorer Frank Wild, physician Alexander Macklin, and biologist Dr Robert Clark, as well as James Wordie.

In 1915, it was trapped in the Antarctic ice. Eventually, after Shackleton helped the Tenth Doctor stop the Skith from destroying Earth, the Endurance was abandoned, and the crew headed 250 miles west on lifeboats for Paulet Island. Every member of the expedition survived. (COMIC: The First)
