Elena was a crewmember of the human colony ship Heart, during its failed mission to reach and eventually colonise Centauri-Beta in 2070. She held a degree in bioengineering, and her role was to fertilise the shipment of foetuses Heart was carrying upon arrival to Centauri-Beta, in order to populate the planet with new people. She was vaporised along with Captain Jacobs while attempting to repair the ship's sabotaged engine room. (PROSE: Total Eclipse of the Heart)
