Edwards was Jasmine's robot jailer whom she reprogrammed into becoming her servant. He was in Jasmine's employ for six months by the time the Eighth Doctor arrived. He told the Doctor to leave before meeting The Network. He asked the Network to kill him once the Doctor escaped with Jasmine.
The Tenth Doctor later encountered him after the crash where he contained a copy of the Network. (AUDIO: Echoes of Extinction)
