The Edifice had a crew of 500 - including the android pilot Azimendah - and could support up to five thousand passengers. It had reserve chemical fuel tanks, an internal combustion engine and Hadene Lestrade bulkheads. (AUDIO: The Sirens of Time)

Delegates of the Galactic Wonders Commission used the Edifice to travel to the Kurgon Wonder with the aim of deciding whether or not it would be named one of the Wonders of the Universe. During the flight, the Sixth Doctor found himself aboard after his TARDIS collided with a temporal anomaly. Shortly afterwards, the Edifice flew too close to the Kurgon Wonder and became enveloped in a time distortion, causing it and everything inside to rapidly age except for the Doctor, the pilot Azimendah and waitress Siren of Time Lyena.
