Dr Eddison Clough was born in 1933 in Rochdale.

He had been a clinical pathologist and a very important scientist in the 1960s. He worked together with Lavinia Smith, a close friend of his, in Wolfenden. Eddison later lost a lot of his memories and knew nothing about his time from 1972 to 2004. He had found photos of his colleagues but he didn't remember them and they also did not know him anymore.

In 2008, he moved back to Wolfenden, because he recognised the village from the photos. Eddison wanted to find out what had caused his memory loss, but no one in the village seemed to remember him and the people in the village were strangers to him as well.

In 2009, Eddison saw an article that Sarah Jane had written about her aunt. He recognised Lavinia and Sarah Jane from his photos and wrote a letter to Sarah Jane, describing his memory loss.

Even though Sarah Jane did not remember her time in Wolfenden, she went there together with Luke. They wanted to help Eddison to get back his memory. They found out that the alien Mrs Hendrick stole not only Eddison's memories but also the memories of the other people of the town. Mrs Hendrick used the chemicals of the memories to prevent her species from finding her. After Eddison found out who had stolen his memory, he wanted to stay in Wolfenden to help the people to cope with the memory loss. Furthermore he wanted to improve the village.
