During the Second World War, the coastline of Little Malding was dotted with early warning radar which proved successful at alerting the British to German aircraft and ships. Having acquired a piece of Chronosteel, a group of Nazi soldiers led by Koenig and Miss Wyckham planned to use it in conjunction with their Sieg Transmitter to block this early warning radar, paving the way for a German invasion of Britain. They were thwarted on 7 June 1941 by Clyde Langer and George Woods, who removed the Chronosteel from the transmitter at St Michael's Church. (TV: Lost in Time)
