In 1963, the comic featured the adventures of Dan Dare. One of his enemies was the Mekon. Gillian Roberts compared John Brent to the Mekon, giving him the nickname "the Martian," in spite of the fact that the Mekon was Venusian. (PROSE: Time and Relative)
