Dr. Who on the Planet Zactus was a 1966 comic story. It doubled as a painting book, meaning the art was printed in in black and white, but the reader was invited to colour in the pictures, if they so wished.

The story featured the First Doctor traveling alone with no companion in sight.

Plot[]

The Doctor lands on the planet Zactus. Meanwhile, an astronaut from a space station lands on another region of Zactus. The native Zactions approach the Doctor and ask him to go with them to their headquarters. He meets their leader and they show him the cold part of the planet. He finds the astronaut's rocket and is taken by robots to their city. He meets the chief robot and the imprisoned astronaut. The Doctor convinces the chief robot to free the astronaut and departs the planet.
