Douglas, often nicknamed Doug, was a man who found himself accidentally molecularly deconstructed by the Serapheem as a child.

Born on 10 October around 1971, Douglas grew up in Dundee as best friends with Jana Lee, who he lived next door to. However, aged 13 around 1984, the Serapheem discovered his will to escape during their migration near Earth and tried to help by deconstructing him, making everyone else think he had vanished.

He was not rediscovered in the now-boarded up house until 2004 when Jana and the Ninth Doctor investigated a new strain of missing teenagers, having still aged in the meantime. Although the Doctor was able to use his pulse resonance chamber to recover the other children, Douglas was unable to be revived as he had been deconstructed for around twenty years too long. However, the Doctor kept the resonator behind to allow Jana to talk to him at any time and revealed on Douglas' birthday that he had also bought the house to allow him peace.
