Deviations from televised story[]
- The Ice Warriors' weapons are described as built into their armour (consistent with previous TV appearances), whereas on-screen they hold curious looking sonic blasters in their clamp-like hands.
- Azaxyr's and Skell's deaths in Chapter 12 differ from the televised story. In the novelisation Azaxyr and Skell accidentally shoot and kill each other during the struggle in the throne room. In the TV episode, Azaxyr mistakenly shoots Skell, but is then stabbed and killed by Gebek's men.
