Doctor Who Magazine's 2000 issues spanned from issue 286 to issue 298 and were published every four weeks by Panini Comics.

Gary Gillatt and Alan Barnes continued to co-edit the magazine through issue 292.With the following issue, (293) Alan Barnes became sole editor of the magazine.

As with the previous year's issue 283, there were multiple covers for issue 290. Four different covers featuring Tom Baker were produced and published for the magazine.

From issue 286 through to issue 288 the magazine remained at a cover price of three pounds twenty pence (£3.20) in the United Kingdom. With issue 289 it rose to three pounds thirty pence (£3.30).
