Doctor Who: Classic is a YouTube channel established by the BBC sometime before 2010. Originally, the channel held random small videos involving the production of DOCTOR WHO from 1963 to 1989. However, by 5 December 2024, the channel had been cleared of other materials and began posting full serials from this era of the show (stories from the first 7 Doctors) in omnibus form (all episodes posted in one video). However, it seems that these stories are only available to US users of YouTube, presumably to make up for the lack of access US viewers have to BBC iPlayer without using some kind of VPN. (There are other US-available outlets that do have all the episodes--except for An Unearthly Child--available for free streaming; most notably, Tubi.)
From 5 December to 15 December, the channel posted one new story a day. From 16 December to 23 December, this increased to two new stories per day being posted. On December 24, this dropped back down to one a day, and no serials were posted on 28 December 2024, 14 January 2025, or 28 January 2025. As of 1 February 2025, postings of new serials have been more sporadic, with a new serial added to the channel every 2-3 days until 10 February 2025, when ‘’The War Games’’ was posted. As of 10 February 2025, 68 such separate serials (four of them animated re-creations) had been posted to the channel.
On 15 & 23 February, instead of individual serials, full season runs of Seasons 17 and 9, respectively, were posted to the channel. These consist of all the stories from the given season combined into a single video. Since then, the channel has switched to posting only full season runs on an approximately weekly/biweekly basis. As of 21 March 2025, five such full season compilations have been posted. (see "Available Full Seasons" below)
