Summary

The Fifth Doctor talks to an interviewer and reveals some interesting truths about his trademark stick of celery.

Characters

References

  • The interviewer claims the meaning behind the Doctor's stick of celery was the mystery that stood out as the most puzzling to his fans.
  • The Doctor gives the reason that he is a messy eater as explanation for the celery, citing equally mysterious ketchup marks on his trousers and a matching egg stain down his shirt.

Notes

  • Just over a year later in the Fifth Doctor's final story The Caves of Androzani the real reason for the celery was revealed. That being, it would turn purple in the presence of praxis gas to which the Doctor was allergic, therefore effectively serviing as a warning to him.
