Deptford

Deptford was a London district.

In 1592, Matt Jobswortham noted it was "near London", with the proximity obvious by the amount of activity there. Jobswortham accidentally hit Mary Harries with his cart on a street in Deptford. It was widely believed that Christopher Marlowe was stabbed to death in a Deptford tavern. (PROSE: The Empire of Glass ^[+]Andy Lane, Virgin Missing Adventures (Virgin Books, 1995).)

The first electricity power station in England was built there in the late 19th century (AUDIO: The Cars That Ate London! ^[+]Jonathan Morris, Heritage 1 (The Paternoster Gang: Heritage, Big Finish Productions, 2019).)
