Den Watts was a fictional character who appeared in the British soap opera EastEnders. In 2007, with the popular ghost phenomenon, a storyline featured Den coming "back from the grave". He confronted Peggy Mitchell, who told him to get out of her pub, saying that the only spirits she served were gin, whisky and vodka.
Behind the scenes Edit
- Lytton confusing Den for Kiston in Mistaken Identity is a meta reference. Den Watts was played by Leslie Grantham, who also played Kiston in Resurrection of the Daleks.
- The EastEnders storyline depicted in Army of Ghosts in which Den is said to have come "back from the grave" may be a nod to Den's infamous two on-screen "deaths" in the shows own continuity: the character was supposedly murdered in 1989, only to be "resurrected" 14 years later, where it was revealed he'd faked his death. The character was ultimately killed off for good in 2005, a year before Army of Ghosts aired. Incidentally, Den's killer in the show was his wife Chrissie Watts, portrayed by Tracy Ann Oberman, who appeared in Army of Ghosts as Yvonne Hartman.
