Madame de Chevreuse was lady-in-waiting to Queen Anne in 1626. She was the covert lover of the Duke of Buckingham and had treacherously helped him invade France. When the Duke was exiled from France back to England in 1626, he disavowed any knowledge of de Chevreuse, leaving her to be simply dismissed from the French court. (AUDIO: The Church and the Crown)
