The Dastrons were a violent wolf-like species. A prison ship carrying Dastron war-criminals crashed into Dunstanton Lake a few thousand years before the 20th century. In the 1970s an archelogical expidition led by Freda Mattingly ventured into the prison ship under the lake and accidentally awakened the Dastron prisoners.
