Damen was a Cwej-Prime who acted as chief commander of the Cwejen. He earned the role after the original Chris Cwej proved himself unreliable at the Gauntlet. Cwej once commented that he would "cheerfully have killed Damen with his own hands for making his foibles and sins external, obvious and undeniable". (PROSE: The Book of the War)
