After a Dalek War, a Dalek flying saucer travelled to the planet Exxilon in search of parrinium. According to The Secret Lives of Monsters, the Exxilon Gambit was the final action of the Third Dalek War, (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters) identified by the Time Lords as taking place in the late 27th century. (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual)
Characteristics & Armaments[]
According to the Dalek Combat Training Manual, this spacecraft was a single-storey design equipped for scientific research, containing power cells within. A sensor array was placed at the top of the saucer, which was flanked by secondary access panels. At the side was an articulated exit hatch hinged at the top. The ship could carry as many as five Daleks. (PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual)
As for armaments, the Dalek Saucer is capable of firing a form of chemical weaponry called a Plague missile, which had the potential to literally wipe out all life on the surface of a planet, and thus, make it completely unable to allow any air breathing lifeforms to survive or any ships to land. (TV: Death to the Daleks)
According to Dan Galloway, he mistook this type of Dalek Saucer for Earth's newly developed Z-47 spacecraft, which is estimate to have an almost similar design look in appearance. (TV: Death to the Daleks)
History[]
The saucer's crew used modified silver Dalek drone casings with "multiphase" black sensor globes like the grey Daleks, designated by the Time Lords as the Type V Dalek. Their leader was distinguished by its amber luminosity dischargers. (TV: Death to the Daleks, PROSE: Dalek Combat Training Manual) All of the saucer's power was taken by the Exxilon City when it made it's descent into the planet's atmosphere. Fortunately the craft and it's crew had managed to land safely and it's occupants were greeted by a welcoming party from the Earth mission ship, that had also suffered from the same draining power that stranded them. Both parties had no choice but to agree to temporary work together, despite both of them not trusting the other as the Daleks were more than willing to double cross. When the power was restored, the Dalek ship and it's crew immediately took off and prepared to fire a Plague missile onto the planet's surface, intending to wipe out all life on the planet Exxilon. Fortunately, the Dalek Saucer was destroyed before it could open fire by the weapons officer of the Marine Space Corps expedition, Dan Galloway, who had stowed away onboard the Dalek ship with a Dalek bomb, which he detonated, taking the Dalek crew and their spaceship with him in the explosion. His sacrifice not only saved the lives of his surviving crew members, but he also managed to save the entire surviving Exxilon race from extinction. (TV: Death to the Daleks)
