Each issue came with a DVD release.
Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.

The TARDIS is attacked by the nucleus of a virus called the Swarm and lands at the Bi-Al Foundation, a space hospital in the 51st century. With the Doctor in a coma, it's up to scientist Professor Marius and his robot dog, K-9, to help Leela save the Time Lord's life. But will Marius' outlandish plan really work? And are they too late to prevent the Age of the Virus?

Notable Information

  • The Bi-Al Foundation (or Centre for Alien Biomorphology), was located at galactic co-ordinates 7438007.
  • The van Baalen brothers were called Tricky, Bram and Gregor.
  • Russell T Davies was born in Swansea on 27th April 1963. His full name is Stephen Russell Davies.
  • Russell T Davies's 1995 Doctor Who novel Damaged Goods was set on a council estate that featured a family called the Tylers - some years before Rose Tyler made her television appearance in 2005.
  • In 1812 the Brothers Grimm published a collection of fairy tales.
  • The notorious pirate Blackbeard who terrorised the West Indies in the 18th century was actually called Edward Teach.
  • Jenny Flint was a Victorian Match girl rescued from an attack by a Chinese gang by Madame Vastra who she later married in 1892 and along with Strax formed the Paternoster Gang.
  • Operation Golden Age was an eco-terrorist group in the early 1970s.
  • The Time Scoop was a relic from the Dark Times in Gallifrey's history known as the Age of Chaos.
